As housing costs continue to increase, the burden falls on hardworking families, local veterans, teachers and farmworkers who are struggling to make ends meet. Ventura County’s housing stock is aging and the County has not added enough new affordable homes to keep pace with increasing need. It’s time to work towards real solutions that create more affordable housing, keep those that are rent burdened and bring unhoused people off the street. A housing bond in Ventura County will create good paying jobs, more environmentally sustainable housing and help our local businesses thrive.
